FICTIONAL PROFILES. REAL ENGINE OUTPUT.

See what Lumis Life actually produces.

Every number below is live engine output — health-adjusted life expectancy from SOA 2015 VBT with Monte Carlo, a per-carrier underwriting read across 18 real carriers, and a DCF-based settlement valuation net of fees. The inputs are fictional. The math is the same math a live client gets.

See what a clean, insurable file looks like when the engine has high conviction.

  • Super-preferred tier peaks sharply — carriers converge on the top tier
  • Long planning horizon with a tight 90% confidence band
  • Delayed Social Security produces the largest lifetime benefit

See an impaired-risk settlement that clears the cash surrender value — with the three buyer-IRR scenarios visible side-by-side.

  • Expected settlement offer clears the policy's cash surrender value
  • Carrier distribution spreads across substandard tiers — no single read

See how a recovered cardiac event shifts the engine's read, with joint survivorship and SS coordination on top.

  • Underwriting read lands around standard-plus — recovered event priced in
  • Joint survivorship curve extends horizon versus single-life projection
  • Higher earner's SS claim at 70 pairs with spousal-strategy benefit

  • Planning horizon extends well past population averages
  • Delaying Social Security to 70 maximizes lifetime benefit over a long horizon

What each sample actually shows

The profiles are deliberately different shapes so you can see how the same engine responds to different clinical and policy pictures. Pick the one closest to the case you want to pressure-test.

Age 35

Emma Chen

For advisors running longevity planning with young clients, and consumers who want a baseline insurability read before applying.

Age 78

Robert Harris

For advisors with an older client holding a legacy UL or GUL policy who are weighing hold vs surrender vs settlement. Shows the valuation math and the carrier spread on a complex cardiac + diabetic file.

Ages 60 & 58

David & Linda Martinez

For advisors running joint retirement planning on a married couple with legacy whole life. Shows how carriers treat a well-managed event years out and the SS claiming coordination math.

Age 68

Margaret Bell

For advisors stress-testing outliving-your-assets risk with a healthy, long-lived client, and consumers curious how family history lengthens the picture.

What you are looking at

Each profile runs through the same SOA 2015 VBT mortality engine, Social Security projections, 18-carrier underwriting estimator, and DCF settlement valuation that a real submission uses. The only difference is the underlying person is invented.

What is redacted

Internal multipliers, weights, and parameter values are never exposed, exactly as on a live report. Condition impacts, carrier reads, and settlement math use qualitative language and standard actuarial vocabulary.

Frequently asked questions

Are the Lumis Life sample reports real?
The profiles are fictional, but every number is produced by the same mortality engine, 18-carrier underwriting estimator, Social Security engine, and settlement valuation stack that a real client submission uses. We seed the database with the fictional inputs and then process them end-to-end — we do not hand-write the outputs.
Do I need to sign up to view the example reports?
No. The samples are public. You can open the full consumer longevity report and the advisor plus settlement view without creating an account. A sample banner stays on screen so it's always clear you're looking at a fictional profile.
What does each sample persona show?
Emma Chen (age 35, no conditions) shows a clean super-preferred underwriting read and a long planning horizon. Robert Harris (age 78, advanced cardiac and diabetic, $1M UL) shows an impaired-risk life settlement that clears the cash surrender value. David and Linda Martinez (ages 60 and 58, $500K whole life) show joint survivorship and Social Security claiming coordination after a recovered cardiac event. Margaret Bell (age 68, healthy with strong family longevity) shows how the engine recognizes a protective family-history factor and projects a long horizon into advanced ages.
Which mortality tables and underwriting guides drive the output?
Longevity projections use SOA 2015 VBT with MP-2021 improvement scales and Monte Carlo simulation. Underwriting reads come from 18 real carrier field guides (Lincoln, Protective, Prudential, John Hancock, MassMutual, Pacific Life, and others), normalized to a canonical 10-class taxonomy. Settlement valuation uses buyer IRR scenarios at 11, 13, and 16 percent with a $15K fixed fee, 1 percent face provider fee, and 20 percent broker commission.
Can I generate a report on my own inputs?
Yes. A personal longevity report at lumislife.com/get-report is free and requires no account. Advisors get unlimited reports for their clients after a free sign-up.
What is redacted on the sample reports?
Internal mortality multipliers, per-condition weights, and engine parameter values are never exposed — identically to a live client report. Condition impacts, carrier reads, and settlement math are expressed in qualitative language and standard actuarial vocabulary. The trade-secret guard that protects a live report applies to the samples too.
